Description

‘Timber’ introduces students to key facts about deforestation of our native timbers and the motives and protests behind it that both facilitated and ultimately halted their demise.

Students read and discuss the Level 3, June 2012 School Journal article, ‘Timber’, and then ‘think sustainably’ as they learn and explore deeper thinking about the state of our native forests by sequentially working through the student project sheet. Alternative perspectives, solutions and a path forward are found through discovery, discussion and application in the learning process itself.
