Description

‘Talking to the River’ follows Grants journey as he observes and tries to resolve the demise of water quality in the Pahaoa River in the southwest Wairarapa by developing a ‘RiverWatch’ monitor and App.

Students read and discuss the Level 3 School Journal article, ‘‘Talking to the River’, and then ‘think sustainably’ as they learn and explore deeper thinking about the health of waterways both across Aotearoa and in their community by sequentially working through the student project sheet. Potential solutions and a path forward are found through discovery, discussion and application in the learning process itself.
