Description
‘Te Namu’ introduces students to some key facts about Te Namu / Sandflies in New Zealand.
Students read and discuss the Level 2 School Journal article, ‘Te Namu’, and then ‘think sustainably’ as they learn and explore deeper thinking about how sandflies are part of a bigger food web that benefits other native animals in their habitat by sequentially working through the student project sheet. Potential solutions to protecting Te Namu habitat and a path forward are found through discovery, discussion and application in the learning process itself.
