Description
The Subantarctic Islands introduces students to one of New Zealand’s three world heritage sites.
Students read and discuss the Level 3, August 2017 School Journal article, ‘The Subantarctic Islands’, and then ‘think sustainably’ as they learn and explore deeper thinking about these unique islands and how their conservation has parallels with mainland NZ by sequentially working through the student project sheet. Potential solutions and a path forward towards appreciating our unique flora and flora are found through discovery, discussion and application in the learning process itself.
