‘‘The Striped Invader’ and ‘ Why Is the Wasp a Pest’ introduces students to some key facts about introduced wasps and the threats they pose to our native wildlife.
Students read and discuss the Level 2 School Journal article, ‘The Striped Invader’ and ‘ Why Is the Wasp a Pest’, and then ‘think sustainably’ as they learn and explore deeper thinking about introduced wasps by sequentially working through the student project sheet. Potential solutions to the threats introduced wasps pose and a path forward are found through discovery, discussion and application in the learning process itself.
