SL3 201202 Living with the consequences

‘Living with the Consequences’ is a brief lesson sequence that introduces students to the understanding that actions have consequences – the focus being as a result of breaking rules or as a result of a bad decision. This is a good lesson for the start of the school term / year when establishing boundaries within your class.

Description

Students read and discuss the one-page Level 3 February 2012 School Journal story, ‘Living with the Consequences’, and then ‘think sustainably’ as they learn and explore deeper thinking about boundaries and rules as a necessity for groups of people to function together with fairness and equity knowing the actions people take can have consequences that impact on others and the world around them. Potential solutions and a path forward are found through discovery, discussion and debate in the learning process itself as students work sequentially working through the student task sheet.
