‘Seals’ introduces students to some key facts about these unique marine mammals and the threats they face – with an emphasis on the three species that live around the coast of New Zealand and the one occasional visitor from Antarctica.
Students read and discuss the Level 2 School Journal article, ‘Seals’, and then ‘think sustainably’ as they learn and explore deeper thinking about protecting seals by sequentially working through the student project sheet. Potential solutions and a path forward are found through discovery, discussion and application in the learning process itself.
